The 12^th General Assembly of MENBO was held in Valencia from 16^th to 17^th October 2023 on the occasion of the 21^st Euro-Inbo International Conference. The event marked the 20^th Anniversary of the creation of MENBO, in 2003, precisely in the city of Valencia, as well as the 20^th Anniversary of the creation of the Euro-Inbo Group. During this 12^th General Assembly of MENBO, the Presidency of the Network was transferred from Malta to Spain, which will hold this position for the next two years. Mr. Marc García, Water Commissioner of the Jucar River Basin Authority, was appointed new MENBO President.

As well as holding the MENBO statutory sessions, the debates were organised around 5 thematic Roundtables dedicated to:

1. Water and Agriculture,
2. New challenges for the implementation of the Water Framework Directive,
3. Adaptation to climate change,
4. The role of the different stakeholders,
5. International and transboundary cooperation.
