MENBO is a Regional Network within INBO (International Network of Basin Organisations) that promotes an integrated water resources management at the river basin level, as an essential tool for sustainable development. This organisation seeks to improve relationships among organisations in charge of water management in the Mediterranean region.

This website includes information, events and documents from other organisations and agencies related to water management, and promotes the exchange of knowledge among these. Most of the events announced, are thus from other sources, and include links to their websites.

The Regional Network was established in 2003, and is currently adding international members from the Mediterranean region. We hope this network will grow stronger with the support and collaboration from most of the Mediterranean countries that deal with river basin management.

The Vicepresident of MENBO, Mr. Juan José Moragues Terrades, and members of the Permanent Technical Secretariat participated in the INBO session during ECWATECH the 5th of June 2008 in Moscow, Russia.

Managing water related information in support of WFD and IWRM implementation

Final Conference of the SPI-Water project

Conference objectives: 

- Bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and water policy implementation

- Presenting the enhanced WISE-RTD Web Portal as tool for sharing water related research information and operational practices

- Facilitating the transfer of Water Framework Directive and Integrated Water Resources Management experiences

Target group: 

Operational water managers, researchers, water policy implementation agencies, policy makers, EC project coordinators, consulting & engineering companies, scientific media, ... from Europe and outside Europe

The New President of MENBO, Mr Walter Mazzitti,  was elected during our last General Assembly, celebrated in Rome in November 2007.            

The 3rd workshop of the SPI-Water project took place in Fes, Morocco, the 19th of February 2008.

 These workshops are dedicated to the presentation and evaluation of the WISE-RTD web portal (www.wise-rtd.info).
